How to Update Your Public Profile

This page provides instructions on how to update and maintain your public profile on KawarthaChoice.com.

As a member of the Kawartha Choice FarmFresh program, you have the opportunity to maintain a public profile on KawarthaChoice.com. Your profile provides the public and fellow businesses the ability to discover your business, learn more about it, and connect with you.

How to Update Your Public Profile on KawarthaChoice.com

Step 1

First, log in to KawarthaChoice.com by clicking Member Login found in the footer of the website.

Tip: You can bookmark the Member Login page for easy access.

Step 2

Once you are logged in, you will see your business name listed. Click on your business name.

If you are responsible for more than one business on KawarthaChoice.com, you will see all of your businesses listed here.

The following steps assume you have completed steps 1-3 described above.

Update your Business Name

At the top of the screen, click on your business name and edit it as required.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Business Description

Your business description is located directly below your business name on the screen. Simply click anywhere within the copy to additional details, or select and delete any text you wish to remove.

It is important your description provides visitors with information about what you offer. If there are “keywords” which a visitor might search to find you, make sure they are included in your business description. For example, if you produce or sell a specific type of vegetable, be sure to include the name of that vegetable in your description.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Public Address

Your public address is listed on your profile and is marked on the KawarthaChoice.com map. Only add this address if you want the public to know where they can find your business.

To edit your public address scroll down to the section labelled “Public Information” and look for the subhead labelled “Location”.

Update the fields in this section as necessary.

Tip: Do not update the Latitude and Longitude. The website will find these automatically based on the address you enter.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Contact Information

Your public contact information is listed on your profile. Only add this information if you want the public to know how to contact your business.

To edit your public contact information scroll down to the section labelled “Public Information” and look for the subhead labelled “Contact Information”.

Update the fields in this section as necessary.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Social Media Links

To edit your social media links scroll down to the section labelled “Public Information” and look for the subhead labelled “Social Media Links”.

Add the full URL for the social media profiles you wish to feature.

Note: Do you use a social media platform not listed here? Send us a message and let us know which platform we’re missing.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Open & Closed Hours

To edit your open & closed hours scroll down to the section labelled “Public Information” and look for the subhead labelled “Hours”.

Deselect the “Closed” option from any days your business is open. Set the hours in the open and closed fields.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Seasonal Hours

To edit your seasonal hours scroll down to the section labelled “Public Information” and look for the subhead labelled “Hours”. Below the list of the days, you will find a field titled “Seasonal Hours (Summer / Winter)”.

Enter your text to communicate your unique seasonal hours.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Upcoming Events/Activities

To edit your upcoming events and activities, scroll down to the section labelled “Public Information” and look for the subhead labelled “Hours”. Below the list of the days, you will find a field titled “Upcoming Events/Activities”.

Enter your text to communicate your upcoming events and activities.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update the list of Farmers’ Markets You sell At

To edit your list of Farmers’ Markets scroll down to the section labelled “Public Information” and look for the subhead labelled “Farmers’ Markets You Sell At”.

Begin typing the name of a Farmers’ Market and select it from the list.

Note: Do you sell at a Farmers’ Market not available in this field? Send us a message and let us know which farmers’ market is missing.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Add or Update the Images of Your Business

There are two types of images on your profile. The first is your “featured image”. This image will be used if your profile page appears on social media or in online search platforms which display images. The second type are general images which appear in the slideshow on your profile page.

To update your “featured” image, click on the name of your business at the top of the page then look for the label “Directory Item Image” in the right hand menu (it will be the last item or near the bottom of the list on the right side of your screen). If an image is already there, click “Replace Image”.

A window will pop-up displaying the images you have previously uploaded. If you would like to update this image with a picture you have previously uploaded, simply select it and click the blue “Set directory item image” button located on the bottom right corner. If you would like to upload a new picture, click “Upload Files” on the top left corner of the screen. On this tab, click the button labelled “Select Files”. Locate the image on your computer and upload it. Once the image is uploaded, click the blue “Set directory item image” button.

Note: Images should be less than 5MB and sized to 380 pixels by 220 pixels.

To update your slide show images scroll down to the section labelled “Public Information” and look for the subhead labelled “Media”.

Click the blue “Edit Gallery” button. A window will pop-up displaying currently in your slideshow. If you would like to remove one, simply click the X on the top right corner of the image. If you would like to add an image (Note: a maximum of 5 images is allowed), click the blue text “Add to gallery”. If you would like to upload a new picture, click “Upload Files” on the top left corner of the screen. On this tab, click the button labelled “Select Files”. Locate the image(s) on your computer and upload it/them. Once the image(s) is uploaded, click the blue “Add to gallery” button.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your YouTube Video

To edit your YouTube Video scroll down to the section labelled “Public Information” and look for the subhead labelled “Media”. Below the “Gallery” you will find a field titled “Video”.

Paste the URL of your YouTube video in this field (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-Y7YQPKQwI)

Note: Only videos uploaded to YouTube are able to be displayed. Do you need assistance uploading your video to YouTube? Send us a message and one of our staff can assist you.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Membership Type

Note: Unless there has been a change in your business operations, your membership type should not be updated.

To edit your membership type, click on the name of your business at the top of the page and look for the button labelled “Member Types” on the right hand side of the screen. Deselect and/or select the appropriate membership types.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Region

Note: Unless there has been a change in your business location, your region should not be updated.

To edit your region, click on the name of your business at the top of the page and look for the button labelled “Regions” on the right hand side of the screen. Deselect and/or select the appropriate regions.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Categories

“Categories” tell the user what types of food and or services you provide.

To edit your categories, click on the name of your business at the top of the page and look for the button labelled “Categories” on the right hand side of the screen. Deselect and/or select the appropriate categories.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Features

To edit your features, click on the name of your business at the top of the page and look for the button labelled “Features” on the right hand side of the screen. Deselect and/or select the appropriate features.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Industries

To edit your industries, click on the name of your business at the top of the page and look for the button labelled “Industries” on the right hand side of the screen. Deselect and/or select the appropriate industries.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Primary Contact Information

Your primary contact information is only visible to KCFF staff.

To edit your primary contact information, scroll down to the section labelled “Private Contact & Business Information” and look for the subhead labelled “Primary Contact Information”.

Enter/edit your primary contact information.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Secondary Contact Information

Your secondary contact information is only visible to KCFF staff.

To edit your secondary contact information, scroll down to the section labelled “Private Contact & Business Information” and look for the subhead labelled “Secondary Contact Information”.

Enter/edit your secondary contact information.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Business Mailing Address

Your business mailing address is only visible to KCFF staff.

To edit your business mailing address, scroll down to the section labelled “Private Contact & Business Information” and look for the subhead labelled “Business Mailing Address”.

Enter/edit your business mailing address.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Business Mailing Address

Your business mailing address is only visible to KCFF staff.

To edit your business mailing address, scroll down to the section labelled “Private Contact & Business Information” and look for the subhead labelled “Business Mailing Address”.

Enter/edit your business mailing address.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Business Information

To edit your business information, scroll down to the section labelled “Private Contact & Business Information” and look for the subhead labelled “Business Information”.

Edit the information as required.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Employee Information

To edit your employee information, scroll down to the section labelled “Private Contact & Business Information” and look for the subhead labelled “Employee Information”.

Edit the information as required.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Expansion & Revenue Information

To edit your expansion and revenue information, scroll down to the section labelled “Private Contact & Business Information” and look for the subhead labelled “Expansion & Revenue”.

Edit the information as required.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Expansion & Revenue Information

To edit your expansion and revenue information, scroll down to the section labelled “Private Contact & Business Information” and look for the subhead labelled “Expansion & Revenue”.

Edit the information as required.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Membership Eligibility Criteria Requirements

To edit your Membership Eligibility Criteria Requirements, scroll down to the section labelled “Private Contact & Business Information” and look for the subhead labelled “Membership Eligibility Criteria Requirements”.

Edit the information as required.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.

Update your Communication Settings

To edit your communication settings, scroll down to the section labelled “Private Contact & Business Information” and look for the subhead labelled “Communication Settings”.

Edit the information as required.

Once complete, click the blue Update button located on the top right corner of the screen.
