Rhea-lly Emu-zing Ranch
Our Story
For more than three decades, emus – large flightless birds native to Australia have been right at home on our farm north of Havelock. We sell emu oil as a natural remedy for ailments including arthritis, fibromyalgia and skin rashes.
Our products
Emu oil is a natural, side effect-free anti-inflammatory that provides relief from arthritis, tendinitis, fibromyalgia and sore muscles. It’s also beneficial for the treatment of burns and skin rashes caused by eczema and psoriasis. Free of any chemicals, it’s a great source of vitamin E and provides SPF 15 sunscreen protection. Our products are also proven effective as a facial moisturizer, as hand and foot cream, and as lip balm.
Other products we produce and sell include chickens, eggs, ducks, guinea hens, geese, turkeys, peacocks, quails and honey.
Where and how you can purchase our products
We’re at the Peterborough Farmers’ Market at Morrow Park on Saturdays and, from June to Thanksgiving, at the Oshawa Centre Farmers’ Market on Fridays. Our products can also be found at Craftworks at the Barn on Lindsay Road east of Fowlers Corners.

Our history
Our farm is a 12-acre property on Round Lake near Havelock, Ontario, where 33 years ago, we fell in love with emus. We started with two male rhea chicks and today, Rhea-lly Emu-zing Ranch is home to some two dozen emus at any given time.
Our affiliation with KCFF has strengthened awareness and marketing of our products, bringing wider attention to the healing benefits of emu oil.
Our philosophy
We take great pride in the care and well-being of our inquisitive and very friendly birds, and, in return, they have consistently provided a vitamin E-rich product that has been and remains, a proven source of natural relief from the scourge of arthritis, skin rashes and other ailments.
What makes us unique
Besides the unique healing properties of the products we bring to market when we started, there were about 50 emu farms between Peterborough and Belleville. Now there’s one to the best of our knowledge, which is great for us.
