Pinewynd Farm-Heritage Pork
Our pork is the only thing we like more than our pigs. If our hardy hogs aren’t out foraging the pastures thus increasing our soil fertility, they are likely gorging on human-grade food ‘byproducts’ such as culled vegetables, spent craft brewers grains, waste cream, apples, culled nuts and seeds. By feeding our hogs tons and tons of culled food every year, Pinewynd effectively turns landfill waste into delicious and highly nutritious meat. This happy hog lifestyle and diet (which is more concurrent with their genetics), enable us to raise our team without the use of antibiotics, medicated feed or any injections of that manner. Purchasing our pork not only supports Pinewynd but also helps many other producers in this ‘buy local region’ dispose of their culled products. Nearly half of our production costs go towards our local abattoir and their skilled butchers who almost all live within this region.
We sell our meat at our two closest farmers markets (Peterborough and Millbrook), local restaurants, and an online food delivery service that targets the GTA. On-farm pickup can be arranged.
