Fleetwood Hills Farm
We produce award winning honey, maple syrup, and garlic. Our 298 acre family farm is located in the rolling hills around the hamlet of Fleetwood, 20 minutes South of Lindsay. Our family has been farming in Ontario for at least 5 generations.
Stephen’s parents started making maple syrup from our sustainably managed sugar bush in the 1980’s. We are well known in the area for Moore’s Maple Syrup. We produce maple syrup from 1,300 taps using a modern stainless-steel wood fired evaporator.
Stephen spent several years working off the farm and developed his passion for beekeeping during that time. He has been beekeeping for 15 years starting with his first two hives while he was living in Oxford, England. We now have over 100 hives that forage on local wildflowers producing pure, natural, unpasteurized honey. In 2020 we decided to enter our honey in the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair for the first time. Our honey won its category and was crowned the Champion-Liquid White Honey, Grand Champion Liquid Honey-Reserve, and the Lorna Robinson Trophy.
We grow about half an acre of the Music variety of garlic. It is a porcelain variety that is semi-hot and spicy. We really enjoy the flavour. It produces large bulbs with very large cloves which means less time spent peeling little cloves. Our garlic is very popular and is usually only available in August and occasionally into early September. We start taking orders for garlic in July.
You can buy all our products direct at the farm. Please call ahead to make sure we are in. Our website (www.fleetwoodhills.com) also has a list of local retail outlets where you can find our products. We hope you enjoy our farm’s products as much we do.
