Brandeston Farm
Our Story
Brandeston Farm is a family owned and operated multi-acre market garden. We are deeply committed to having a positive relationship with our community, and that goal is at the heart of everything we do.
Our Products
We grow several dozen varieties of veggies and herbs including lettuces, tomatoes, squash, potatoes, peppers, cucumbers, radish, turnip, carrots, beets, sage, cilantro, basil, and many more! To see our full crop list and learn more about what we grow and how we grow it, check out our website below.
Where and how you can purchase our products
From May to November, our growing season is a bustling time. We're a regular presence at local farmers' markets and our on-farm stand is open several days a week for your convenience. For those who prefer the ease of online shopping, we offer both pickup and delivery options and gladly take orders over the phone. Before the season begins, we offer shares in our CSA program through our website, allowing members to enjoy a full season of fresh veggies, available weekly or bi-weekly. Additionally, we cater to restaurants with direct sales and are always open to special orders to meet your unique needs.
Our History
Our family moved here and began farming in the 1880’s. For the last few decades the land was rented to other farmers for hay and cropping, but in 2019 we began working the farm ourselves and making it into the wonderful operation that it is today.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy centres on providing a nurturing and enriching work environment for our team, fostering both productivity and learning. Beyond our farm gates, we are dedicated to supporting local food banks. In 2023, for instance, we initiated weekly donations from May through November, contributing over 4,000 pounds of fresh produce to those in need. Our vision extends beyond mere production; we aim to expand our operations, feeding more people and leveraging our resources to address meaningful issues that affect the community and beyond.
What Makes Us Unique
We use low impact, sustainable growing practices and environmentally beneficial, natural inputs such compost, organic hen manure, and organic fertilizers. Insects and pests are addressed with netting, companion planting, and manual methods. We never spray or use inorganic interventions in the garden. We believe we've struck a unique balance: delivering exceptional produce at great prices, creating a top-tier working environment for our staff, and positively impacting our community and environment in the process.
